There are some places in the world that capture your heart; there are others that capture your spirit. Bear River does both. This eclectic town is home to individuals from all walks of life, united by their love for this gentle, welcoming village as ever-changing as its tides.
Blue Mind Gallery is situated in the village centre, nestled in an old, historic building next to Sissiboo Coffee Roaster:

While in Bear River, make sure to explore all the area has to offer. To find out more about local attractions and events, please visit www.bearriver.ca or www.bearriverarts.wordpress.com . There are many gems to discover in our village - especially for those who enjoy "travelling off the beaten path."
Did you know that the tidal waters from the Bay of Fundy, (the highest tides in the world!), travel all the way up-river to our village centre? Our downtown buildings are on stilts! Every 6 hours, the water level rises or falls by 20-30 feet! Check out the local tide times here (look for Digby) if you wish to try and time your visit with low or high tide.
From the bridge downtown, watch for buffleheads, cormorants, loons, herons, kingfishers, and of course, the majestic eagles overhead who enjoy fishing for eel. Sometimes we even get a surprise visit from a seal who has followed his supper up-river. Speaking of supper...do you enjoy fishing? There might be a bass with your name on it :).
